This is an exciting opportunity to work on a major new project funded by the AHRC. You will assist the project investigators (Dr Rachel Moseley, Dr Helen Wheatley, (University of Warwick) Dr Helen Wood (De Montfort University) in the successful execution of the project, undertaking original research to explore television programming made for and watched by women viewers during this significant period. You will explore the production culture, policies and decision-making which have produced television programming for women in Britain in the specified period. You will also reconstruct and analyse the programming itself, contributing to a project that aims to establish and protect that programming available in the archives. Your research will address some of the gaps in existing histories of British television and will involve substantial time working in written and audio-visual archives in Britain. There is scope within this project for you to develop your own research themes within the bounds of the project.

You will have a PhD or equivalent experience in a relevant field, experience of conducting archival research and textual analysis of television programmes or similar, a developing profile of research publications, administrative experience or capabilities and a commitment to a feminist research agenda.

"Lecturer in Creative Writing, Department of English

A vacancy has arisen for a Lecturer to join the Creative Writing team in this RAE 5-rated department. You will be a prose writer with publications in fiction or non-fiction. Experience in teaching twentieth-century or contemporary literary topics at undergraduate level will be a distinct advantage. You will be expected to sustain and develop our existing undergraduate Creative Writing modules, participate in the Creative Writing MA, and assist in developing the activities of the University's Philip Larkin Centre for Poetry and Creative Writing. Depending on the particular qualifications of the successful applicant, the post will also involve teaching on mainline literary modules in the English Department. A job-share arrangement might be contemplated, so joint applications or single applications for 0.5 of the post will be considered.

Salary range £29138 - £33780 pa.

COMMUNICATION: Trinity University. Instructor or Assistant Professor of Communication, one-year appointment, Fall 2008, M.A. or A.B.D. (Ph.D. preferred). Teach six undergraduate classes per year (9
contact hours per semester) with teaching responsibilities in multiplatform journalism (reporting, writing, and producing across media; and analysis of the challenges of convergence and technological changes) and either industry analysis (Mass Media) or textual analysis
(Media Interpretation and Criticism).

The department is integrated among media specialties and within the liberal arts and sciences mission of the university. The faculty is committed to linking theory and practice in our teaching, research, and service. Two amazing postdoc. positions have opened up at Umeå University's HUMLab:

The postdoctoral fellowships are one-year positions, with a possible extension of one year. For the postdoc positions, applicants will be expected to have a Ph.D. in a humanities discipline (from a non-Swedish university) and a specialty in any of the following five research areas: participatory media, digital cultural heritage, digital art/architecture, electronic literature, and
critical perspectives.
