After suffering public outrage (including a Facebook group) when Facebook changed their terms of service, Facebook has reverted to the original rules:

Also, companies are far more likely to listen to people, since people are money, and money is what companies want. Governments, not so much.

Sure governments want money (taxes?) and they also want the vote, surely that's important. Besides plain old democracy...
Democracy? What's that?
Governments want taxes, but also know that people don't seem to notice/care what is going on. Oddly enough, when it comes to companies doing online, activism is easier, so change is more likely. Geek fury seems very limited to non-meatspace.
