[harpenden farmers' market]

A lovely way to spend a sunny Sunday morning; strolling through a pretty town and doing food shopping without dodging crazy trolley drivers in a crowded supermarket...ah, and it's all local produce.

No-one makes steak pies like the British. Or, layer cakes...but, don't see any under the candy-striped awnings. I also can't see folk talking on cell phones in the photo you took of the market place. Perhaps the culinary delights are powerful enough to distract users from using their cells.
hrm...there were a few stalls selling all kinds of cakes I'm sure you would have liked. I only took photos of stalls from where we bought produce though...we didn't buy any layer cakes.
Interesting comment re: the use of mobiles, most people seemed to be in deep conversation with those physically around them. Though I did see a little girl (about 8) ringing her dad because she had lost him amidst the stalls.
